Cor Cantiamo

On Sunday January 19, 2014, the a cappella choir Cor Cantiamo will present a sacred concert at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois, that features two choral works from the Soli Deo Gloria Psalms Project.

Bless the Lord, o my soul (Ps 103) by Galina Grigorjeva (U.S. Premiere)

Psalm 67 by Ēriks Ešenvalds

The program will also include works by Palestrina and Heinrich Schütz, as well as contemporary spirituals.

Cor Cantiamo, Northern Illinois University's ensemble in residence, was founded in the spring of 2009 with the mission of performing contemporary choral music and fostering new composers for the art form. An accomplished professional vocal ensemble, Cor Cantiamo has been described as an "outstanding chamber choir" that "represents choral artistry at its finest." (Morten Lauridsen, NEA-Designated “American Choral Master” Recipient). All of the members of the choir are professional musicians living in the Chicagoland area, and most are alumni of the NIU Choral Program.
