CEO Chandler Branch Announces His Resignation
home > Latest news

"Eleven years ago I joined the staff of Soli Deo Gloria and began the most enriching and formative professional experience I have ever had. Now, after many treasured adventures in the company of great friends and great music, the time has come to begin a new chapter in my life and to allow the same to take place in the life of SDG.
"On September 9, 2011, my tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of SDG comes to a close. The following week I begin a new job as Executive Director of Art Saint Louis, an organization that specializes in contemporary visual art. This move to Saint Louis follows a deep and long-held desire of mine to relocate to the Saint Louis area to be near family. After years of consideration, I believe the time is right to make this change.
"It is certainly not without a sense of loss that I move on from leading SDG. But I carry with me deep gratitude for the board, staff and donors of this unique organization--dear friends all who account for the greater part of SDG's success. And I look forward to joining those who have always carried the most important job: cheering SDG on and supplying the means to pursue what I continue to believe is a very promising future."

A Message from the Board
"The disappointing news of Chandler Branch's resignation nonetheless brings with it a sense of gratitude for his years of dedicated service to our organization. We wish Chandler the very best in his new post in Saint Louis, and we share his abiding enthusiasm for the mission of SDG as something that not only inspires but also transcends us all.
"Under the leadership of Board Chairperson Priscilla Whitehead, and with Chandler's help, the board has already been working to plan for the necessary administrative and program oversight that will enable SDG to carry on its work smoothly while also charting a clear course for the process of finding a new CEO.
"Change in the leadership of any organization is a momentous occurrence; we have been blessed with Chandler's abilities and trust that we will similarly find the right person to lead SDG into the future. There are many exciting projects underway. During the transition period, the directors of SDG look to the expertise of our highly competent staff, the continuing warm generosity of our donors and, above all, the grace of God to further our efforts to foster sacred music of the highest quality 'for a thirsty world.' Thank you for your ongoing support in the days ahead."
