John Nelson to Conduct Mendelssohn Masterwork

For 2017 SDG offers a variation of its Chicago Bach Project. Presented in collaboration with the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, Maestro Nelson will conduct the choral and orchestral forces of the Conservatory, joined by world-class soloists, in Mendelssohn’s stirring Lobgesang (“Hymn of Praise”).

Recording begins for second Psalms Project CD

On the heels of the enthusiastically received Psalllite CD, released March 2016, recording sessions for Psallite II begin in July 2016. Under the direction of Eric A. Johnson, Cor Cantiamo once again pairs with engineers from Abbey Road Studios (London) to ensure an extraordinarily high quality CD.

The 2016 Chicago Bach Project presentation of the monumental Mass in B Minor on Friday evening, March 11, 2016, was filled with drama on many levels. At the last moment, we regretfully had to announce that Maestro John Nelson was unable to direct the concert, due to illness. Fortunately, Delta David Gier, Music Director of the South Dakota Symphony and Chicago Bach Project Assistant Conductor, was able to step in beautifully on short notice.
