Final Psalms Project Premiere in Cincinnati

The world premiere of the final commission in Soli Deo Gloria’s three-year Psalms Project takes place on Sunday, February 1, 2015. Robert Beaser’s choral work Songs of the Ascent (Psalm 121) will be presented during the Sunday worship service at Knox Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati by the Knox Choir, conducted by Director of Music Earl Rivers, with soloists from the choir and organist Christina Haan.

As SDG wrapped up its 20th Anniversary 2013-2014 season, the highlights of 2014 marked many milestones in the history of SDG's mission to create the best in classical sacred music. Premieres included MacMillan's St. Luke Passion and Since it was the day of Preparation, Rouse's Requiem, six Psalms Project choral works, plus the Chicago Bach Project performance of the St. Matthew Passion.

On November 21 and 23, 2014, two of New York City’s (and the world’s) most renowned houses of worship participated in a unique SDG-sponsored interfaith event. In an unprecedented collaboration, the choirs of Temple Emanu-El and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine joined forces to present the world premieres of two Soli Deo Gloria Psalms Project commissions.
