Soli Deo Gloria is more than any one staff person or board member or musician. SDG is a worldwide network of people from many countries around the globe, from all walks of life, who love sacred classical music and want to support its future. From time to time, we’d like to introduce you to some of our fans. Their support and encouragement makes all the difference! And we'd love to hear what you have to say about SDG. Drop us a note!

What excites me about SDG:
What I appreciate most about the mission of SDG is the opportunity both to hear wonderful performances of existing sacred music, and even more so, to know that you are commissioning new works. I suspect a lot of people think that sacred music is a ‘closed book,’ something that happened a long time ago, and that’s that. SDG, at least for me, is a dramatic reminder that sacred music is an ‘open book,’ something dynamic and ongoing. The commissions are a testimony to this reality.

What excites me about SDG:
I am very happy to know that there is an organization like SDG. There is a lot of sacred classical music around, but all too often it is treated as “absolute music,” with no regard to the spiritual aspect. Here is an organization that lifts up the message inside the pieces and reminds us that the themes for the masses, the passions and the oratorios are texts with deep and profound meanings.

What excites me about SDG:
I have been a choral singer since I was in fourth grade, and I know that is one way I can contribute to worship services. The creation of new, interesting and relevant sacred music is something that I feel is important for Church services and concert settings where one can "sneak in" religious themes and show God's beauty in the world.
